Thanks to Greg for the kind comments. The conference was a big success, a good mix of professionals, "self funded researchers," and some very impressive students. It was good to meet many of the folks with whom I have exchanged many emails, especially Bill Hartkopf of the USNO, Kent Clark (JDSO), Robert Buchheim, and Russ himself, all luminaries who have really helped me to hone my research skills. I was very impressed by the presentations by the professionals, I'll never do research on that level but I now understand more of it and how our research fits into the bigger picture.
I think that Russ Genet is planning on posting pdfs of the powerpoint presentations and perhaps even the videos on his site
http://www.altazinitiative.org/
and there is a new "The Double Star Reader" of selection of papers from the JDSO which will soon be available as well as plans to publish proceedings from the meeting. Finally, there may be another meeting next year, perhaps in Flagstaff.
This meeting only reinforces the idea that "self funded researchers" also known as "amateur researchers" are valued members of the double star research community.

Sounds like it was a most interesting and enjoyable conference. Double star research is an area I'm interested in getting into so I'll watch that site with much interest. Thanks for sharing.
