Hi,
for sime time I have been a watching CN but this is my first post I think.
My question is when it comes to CCD photometry which star catalogue should be used for the reference stars to get the best accuracy?

Willkommen, Andreas.
For CCD photometry of variable stars, I would recommend that you use the AAVSO's "Variable Star Plotter (VSP)." (http://www.aavso.org/vsp). This will have the most up to date values for reference stars for whichever variable you are planning on observing. Most observers start off using a "V" filter and I would recommend that, too.

I second Rutherfordt's advice, the AAVSO charts are the best place to start looking for reference comparison stars in the same field of view as many variable stars.

The above responses are correct -- use the AAVSO charts. Many catalogs have magnitudes on different standards or with filters that are designed to produce precise astrometry. For example TychoV is not the same as JohnsonV. The AAVSO charts and associated CCD data have the magnitudes you need. You do not have to be a member to access them.
