a shocker, clear sky last night. Guiding was downright spectacular with the mini-guider, Meade DSI V1, and PHD. Most of the time, I'm pretty happy with an RMS of .07 to .09. Last night on this session it was running at .05! I was thinking "oh no something is wrong". I shot 21 subs, and they are all in the stack.

Thank You- Mike, Warren, bouffetout, Erskin71, and Chris! I'm dying for a dark site trip, so it was great to have a good night in the LP zone without having to use a narrow band filter and the mono cam. Would have been nice to get more subs but it was heading into the trees(Washington- the Evergreen State) a couple of 100 footers about 25 feet away.

Erskin71: my Clear Dark Sky chart completely missed on this one, the forecast was partly cloudy. in reality= It was just beautiful. My guide scope frosted over though because my dew heater strap for it broke a wire. was till guiding but I knew it wouldn't last, so I shut down.

Nice image! Robert that is twice recently! Yikes! My mount is on the way back here but wont arrive until next week, not great here last night for imaging but I could have gone with eyeball and done nicely for a few hours.

Thank You Hilmi, Terry, and Jim!

Jim: I think all of us in the NW are entitled to a better upcoming season after the last 3 years we've endured. My first year at this was my best. since then it's been a struggle to get two good nights a month at any time of the year. I can't justify trying to troubleshoot a problem and loose a night imaging so I just switch gear if I have a problem.

Hope your mount brings the clearing sky with it!

Thank you Chris!

I struggled with the decision to use the QHY8, or hook up the Quantix and try some LRGB...(I went with safe ) I want to try the Quantix/LRGB on my SCT @ f/10, this spring.
