ISS not visible in Hawaii? new
      #5672230 - 02/10/13 12:00 PM

This totally does not make sense. I have never tried to view the ISS from my current location in Hawaii. I look on NASA's Human Space Flight site as well as the ISS tracker and there are no listings for my location. How is that possible? Shouldn't I have flyovers all the time at 23*N? I was eventually hoping to use Stellarium to run my mount with a guidescope and maybe track the ISS on a long pass.

The orbit of the ISS doesn't change much. Certainly it passes over your location on a regular basis, the question is WHEN during the day. For the most part, the ISS is only visible around twilight and EARLY evening (or LATE night before morning twilight).

Right now, it's entirely possible that it passes near overhead for you between 11am and 2pm (or some such).

Give it a month or so and check again for apparitions.

Try Heavens-above.com. Choose you location from the database, click on Ten Day predictions for the ISS, and then select 'ALL' at the top.

If you sign up on this NASA site, they will email you with all the info of where and when the ISS is over your location.

Also, on my android phone I have ISS detector. It shows flyovers for the next 10 days and you can set alarms and such as well.

There are often weeks at a time where it isn't visible from Phoenix, AZ.

That said, we just had a few great Mag -3 flyovers this weekend!
