OK back again after a break and processing some older images
inspired by rick J, i decided to go after this one

here's my rendition of NGC 6826 in NII and OIII balanced to bring out the red fliers.
it ain't much, but i was happy to get the fliers



2x in case you missed them



blinking^2 :



red fliers "fast, low ionization emission regions"
can be seen at the tips of the wings/ansae of certain planetary nebulae
in this image, the low ionization NII emissions demonstrate the fliers
just outside of bright spots seen in OIII

astrodon 5nm OIII, 3nm NII
NII 20x5 min 16x20 min

tried RGB in 2006 with a hint of red fliers:



Ha-OIII version in 2009 yeilded no evidence of fliers
Ha largely paralleled the OIII (even with narrow band balance)
i assume this is due to Ha overwhelming the NII signal
did pick up the outer shell though:


got it this time with NII filter and narrow band color balance
