So there is a possibility my scope was on and tracking a bit too long and bumped into a leg. Now the RA drive runs both directions but does not move the scope. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Well, if the LX80s are anything like the LXD75's, I'd be looking for a loose set screw some where in RA gear train...

I think a call to Meade is in order.

I had one for just a few days. The gears inside are all plastic and there are several things that could go wrong. I am leaning towards something that will require them to repair rather than a simple solution. Sorry

So I finally got the mount back from Meade yesterday. Got it out last night and set it up with my 2080 on it. Someone at Meade took all the springs out of it. The play in RA is totally gone. The mount is rock solid with no play anywhere.
I will take it out as soon as the weather permits.
I also plan to do some current measurements to determine a proper sized fuse in order to not have the problem happen again. Fuses are cheap, sending in your mount sucks.

So you are saying there isn't any RA play at all? Since it is spring loaded what might have changed? Interesting!

Should be getting mine back in a couple of weeks. Am anxious to hear results of the new ones coming back from repair.
