Well... I treated my wife to a nice weekend a few hours out of town for Valentines day. This morning just before coming back home she popped the question.
My wife: Is there an astronomy shop here?
Me: Yep, there's a few.
My wife: Want to go shop before going home?
Me: Humm... sure (I said with a grin not knowing if this was a trap ~ it was not)
My wife: Okay, let's go after breakfast.
Me: WOOHOO!
My wife: You look like a 10 year old boy about to go spend $1 at the candy store.
Me: Oops, is it that obvious?
My wife: yep!
So off we went to the astronomy store. 2 hours later the damage was...
One 2" 2x Televue Powermate with the camera adapter.
Two AT65EDQ Quadruplets for side-by-side imaging.
Now the bad news is the cloud spell that comes with new gear. Hopefully it won't last too long.
The moral of the today's event is be nice to your spouse... it pays off
Clouds clouds go away

Yep, 2!
I bought the dual ADM saddle last year and thought this was the perfect scope for side by side... and with the wife's blessing one scope was not enough (at least that's was I told myself )... I only had 1 chance so I jumped all over it

Both my RC's and the EON 120mm have Moonlite focusers. I think I'll buy another Moonlite and an extra flange, I think I can use the Moonlite I have for the 120mm by changing just the flange.
Shhhhhhhhhhhtttt... don't tell my wife, it's our little secret.

Are you going to use a mono camera on one AT65EDQ and a color camera on the other while shooting the same targets? I love my AT65EDQ. Just bought a Canon 6D. Want to see how the scope works with the full frame sensor.

I'll try all sort of combination I guess.
I do have a OSC CCD and a Mono CCD; I could try that and compare the results, that should be fun.
I also have 11 DSLRs; 4 are modified and 1 is MONOfied. Yep, I have a monosensor Nikon D5100 so I'm pretty anxious to see how it performs with the AT65EDQ.
I'm also tempted to purchase another Atik 460EXM. This way I'll be able to double everything in one night... but this will have to wait for more funding; perhaps next year Valentines day

I've done a lot of imaging with twin scopes; monochrome on one and color on the other. I actually found it to be far easier and more productive to have the two scopes on their own mounts, that way the monochrome and color imaging could proceed at their own pace.

Well, Guylain, you just need to sell more copies of Backyard EOS. Everybody, buy it! Hehehe... Does BackyardEOS support two cameras at once, or will you have to have two laptops?
I've often thought how cool it would be to have a mega imaging array - 9 identical scopes, pointed the same direction, with 9 identical cameras attached, in a huge 3x3 rig, on a sturdy mount - just think, you could get over a day's worth of light frame data in under 3 hours!

BackyardEOS 2.1 will support more than one camera on the same laptop. I'm aiming at a 2.1 beta release sometime in March.
Thank you

BYE with multi camera support will be amazing. I've been thinking about picking up another 450D to do piggy back at the same time as prime imaging. Wonder how dithering is going to work if you were doing 2 different exposure lengths on one mount.

In 2.1 you will be able to start 2 instances of BYE and when more than one camera is connected you'll be able to select which one you want.
I opted for 2 instances (or more if you have x + 1 cameras) for simplicity but most of all for stability.
I do plan to have a _synch_ feature in the future but that won't be for 2.1 My plan is to have a way to identify a MASTER instance of BYE and one or more slave instances connected to other cameras. The master instance will trigger start/end sequence and will also be responsible for dithering while the slaves will simply wait for commands from the MASTER instance. Does this make sense?

Makes perfect sense. I was thinking about all the possibilities after I asked the question and its the only reasonable way I can think of to making it work. Can't wait to see 2.1!

Guylain,
When I read the title I couldn't help but laugh out loud. That's typically what a man would say when his wife gives him the green light to marry a second wife (just because our religion allows polygamy, doesn't mean you can get away with it, you've first got to survive a few flying dishes and maybe the odd glass or two).
Then again, with the amount of time I spend with my observatory I suspect she thinks I have a woman tucked away somewhere up there out of site.

I just placed an order for a Moonlite stepper motor focuser and a spare flange so I can use the one I already have for the EON 120mm. Both AT65 will have motorized focusers now.
