I keep forgetting to order a red light. So, while at the auto store picking up some parts. I found some red tail light repair tape. And I thought, Hmmm.. DIY Red light. So I got it. When I got home, I pulled out an LED flashlight and put 2 layers of tape on it. It seems to work. The down side of this DIY is I have enough tape to do about 100 more..

I keep a roll handy just in case. You would be surprised how often it has been used at star parties just for interior car lights. I'm on my third roll.

Throw away the tape and get some dark red LEDs from
Super Bright and your light will be about 10 times more efficient, that does not mean brighter. Gene

Well, I tested my light out last night. Worked really well. I could read the writing on the eye pieces with ease and look a the star chart, yet didn't blind me or others while viewing. I will call it a success.
