Saw the Cardiologist today, he said that the blood pressure levels I am experiencing will fade and go back to bad again. So I will have to start walking daily, lose weight and learn to eat like a bird..perhaps I can mitigate the future return of the high blood pressure. It sure is great to have normal readings like a kid.
Breathing is labored though, no pneumonia but build up of fluid in the lungs after surgery ask Darren Drake it can be hard to talk.

nothing like life changing events to put things in perspective mark. you can get that diet going with a little self motivation things will fall in place. i lost quite a bit when i went through my divorce and my life did not depend on it so you can do it easier than i did. get recovered first then you will find the rest easy. were so close to each other we Need to have a AP And Zeiss Shootout... Hi Mark! Well Hostess couldn't have went out of business at a more convenient time. But watch out if someone else buys up those $valuable$ brand name trademarks like Twinkie's and HoHo's. Take care bud. Fight like heck with a hobby like this to help you along! Donna & Mike

Mark! Dude!
I go away for a short period, come back and find my NEAF buddy is in recovery mode!
Take care my man! You're officially on the prayer list.
Enjoy the bird food - not exciting but sure beats the alternative...
Darren - thanks for reporting!

You can do it. When they told me I had gout they were ready to drug me up. I changed my life style, started eating very healthy and have been very happy since. It is amazing what we will do when our survival instincts kick in. God bless you to good health and clear sky observing.

I just talked to Mark minutes ago. He had treatments for his vision and it it 100% improved. He may have to have more treatments but he was lucky as he was told he almost lost vision in his right observing eye. He is going to get a ride now to get a haircut which is basically his first time getting out to do something. He hopes to be driving within a couple weeks. I offered to when he is ready to come out with a friend and do all the lifting and set up the AP superplanetary. He was excited about that. He starts very light tread mill workouts tomorrow. For now all he really can do to improve is eat and sleep. Soon though he should be slowly becoming more active.

Thanks for the update Darren.
Mark, a healthy diet and an active lifestyle is something we must not neglect. Once you start you won't be able to stop and you'll feel and look so much better. Last year I started running 15-20km a week and it's one of the best decisions I ever made. It was really hard at first but now I crave it and can't go more than a few days without it. It's like a drug! Good luck and I hope you get back to observing with your new AP refractor soon.

Mark you and your cardiologist must have your wires crossed up. Five miles a day on a treadmill would kill me on the spot. Mike

Just had a nice evening with Mark, Sean Cunneen, and mirror maker Dan Joyce. It was Mark's first real social night out since his surgery. He's feeling much better these days and down 15 lbs. Soon we hope to get Mark back to some observing and to his projects in time. Sean has some cool projects in the works also as many of us know as well and tonight was a blast catching up on all this good stuff.

Yo Bros:
I'm supposed to be feeling better but truth is am not there yet. Slept the entire day Monday and last Thursday had no choice completely out of my control.
Brestbone still hurts but I cannot take pain pills or I would do nothing but sleep. Brestbone should not hurt but I had two surgeries, the valve implant then a second ripping the chest open to stem internal bleeding.
Soon I'll have a group over to observe thru the 6" Superplanetary to see it's quality. Thank God Rolland is alive and close by. I want nothing but perfection from this scope.

Hi Mark! It is nice to see you up and about. I take it that is a recent pic with Sean. I must say you look much better than in last year's NEAF photo. You my friend are damn lucky. Can't wait for more pics of you guys with the Super Planetary. Do take care. Mike & Donna
