Jupiter February 1, IR first light with ASI cam. new
      #5685674 - 02/17/13 06:15 PM

Hi all,

Here are a set of Jupiter images from February 1. The IR image was shot with my new ASI120MM camera. The others with my Flea3. The IR image was resized down to match the RGB image. With first light there is a learning curve. I now use a shorter F/R with the ASI to get a more reasonably sized image. I chose the images I presented because they were the best of the lot.

Looks like a good night Paul, a nice first light with your new camera although I think the R channel image is slightly better than the IR, which with these two cameras I suppose is to be expected.

Well done.
Regards
Trevor

Trevor,

Thanks...first light is always tricky with the learning curve. I am really anxious to try the ASI out on Mars where it's G and B sensitivity should shorten exposure times and the lessor red sensitivity won't be such an issue. Alas, that is about 7.5 months away...

Paul
