So this was a classic C14 I picked up, the cork was squeezing out the corrector had mold inside and outside on the plate. The forks and drive had mud nests all over. It took weeks

A fine transformation, Bob! Quite an early one, with those sand-cast forks.

There's always my notorious thread about Margarita, the Salt-Encrusted C8. Larry Beach has finished restoring it, and will be shipping it back to me soon. Should be quite an adventure in before-and-after photographs!

Almost dont wanna post this after seeing the above

This scope came to me from Carol Widger, the alt-az head was a joke, the lenses had been taken apart and put back together horribly. The focuser was usable, but not bye much. And the lone baffle was actually improperly placed, it was cutting off a large portion of the light cone, trying to move it, I mangled it, so it went bye bye, I did totally flock the inside, and the lack of a baffle hasnt hurt the old girl at all.

Meade 16" f4.5 Equatorial Starfinder " before "
Actually worse than what you can tell from this image, it sat in a old shed where the roof leaked and the doors were left open allowing the ellements to blow in on it.
Tube had a couple deep dents and the mirror cell was pretty much rotted.

"After" Built new mirror cell based on original design but used Baltic Birch and Ebony Star laminate, although you cant see that in this image
Skim coated tube with auto body filler, sanded and painted.
