Could I buy a power supply at any autozone? new
      #5683075 - 02/16/13 09:46 AM

Could I buy these power supplies for a goto mount at any WalMart, home depot, lowes, AutoZone, pepboys, or O'Reillys?

I ordered (http://www.telescopes.com/telescope-accessories/power-supplies/celestronpowertank12vpowersupply7amphour.cfm). But I don't think it will get to me for two weeks. So I'm thinking about canceling the order and get it from one of those stores.

If one of the store sells them, which one could you recommend me to get?

Thank you in advance.

Yes you can. Well, at Pep Boys or Harbor Freight or Wal-Mart, anyway--never looked in Autozone. And most of their jump starters are actually superior to the Celestron-branded unit. Which one? That's simple: one with at least 17 amp-hours of capacity.

You could save a few bucks and get the model without the compressor. I have owned that model for about 3 years now. It has a built in volt meter and it comes with a 120v mains charging cord. There is also a plug for a wall wart which does not come with it.

That one is fine, but this one is better. Don't pay for the compressor if you don't need it. The compressor adds unnecessary weight, also.

Hi,
There are some with 12volt cigerette lighgter sockets to plug in your mount. And some even have built in inverters that you can plug in 120volt like that yellow 5-in-one for $99. at Harbor freight. It has an 18 amp hour battery and a volt meter. I got it on one of their sales for $79.

I got a jump starter at Walmart for $40 that has the battery conditioner, and a bright white light. Works great on my Advanced Vx. I use a cig lighter "splitter" to give me two cig lighter ports so I power my mount and my Kendrick vi dew controller. Works all night!
