Here is the branding info on my XW eyepieces:

XW 3.5: Pentax Corporation Made in Japan embossed
XW 7: same
XW 10: same
XW 20: same

None of mine have the Pentax Ricoh sticker.

I bought all of them used except for the XW 3.5.

Same with my XW5.

My XW7 has the "Pentax Ricoh Imaging Co., LTD/ Made in Japan"
sticker/plaque.

Both came new from Adorama. I bought the XW5 five or six weeks ago, and the XW7 just this week.

Stopped by the scope shop yesterday, the lady there had talked with Pentax on the Phone and they told her that only the 30mm and 40mm XW were discontinued. They will continue to manufacture the 3.5-20mm versions.

That looks correct as that is what is listed on Pentax Japan website .

I think we would all be better served with additional confusion seen here, at another Pentax product site.

This page, which is (or should be) linked from their spotting scopes page, shows only the four models from 7 thru 20mm. Maybe that's only because those are better suited to the spotting scopes... or not. (Note that the web store page linked in the previous post also shows the XO 2.5mm, which is widely believed to be discontinued.)

But enough of that. Time for first light for my 7 and 10 XWs...

Thought I was going to have a chance last night, predicted just partly cloudy, Guess it was only cloudy from horizon to horizon and cleared up when out of my view. Figures....People say I could make a lot of money traveling the world making clouds.....I just look at them in utter shock...

Well if that website is correct for the foreseeable future, then they did eliminate the two shortest sizes. So I got one while it was still available and the other perhaps unnecessarily. But even then, I am going to compare the 20 to the 22 Pan. and keeping of of them.
