Youth on the Roof in PI

I sure have not had much chance to observe with all the activity in this school foundation in the Philippines, but once in awhile I can sketch for 30 minutes or so. The last blog post includes a recent sketch of M42 on a hazy night when I was using the same 80mm refractors we have trained staff to use. Pictures and a story of the last youth group observing period preceded the sketch. There is religious content.

For my friends in mid north lattitudes: my friends here start shivering when it is in the low 70s and the wind is blowing!! We are acclamated now, so observing in the spring at our Virginia home will be a shock. Home in less than 4 weeks.

Roland and Linda,

Nice photos and sketch of M42. You really don't need a large scope to get amazing sketches.
Winter was a little late getting here in Chicago but it is now firmly in place.

Frank

Thanks, Scott and Frank. They will be banging on our door tonight, too. Some of the K1/2 teachers really want to see things so when the moon is bright they are excited.
