Thanks Chris and Geoff!
Yes, I count my blessings and thanks every day and night.
Here's a recent image of the TAK FS-102 in the observatory warm room on a new CG-4 mt for quick out-the-door looks for objects low in the S. sky.

I just saw this thread and many thanks for sharing!! What an adventure and it's great to follow along in the building of a fantastic observatory
P.S. I hope them trees aren't too much of an obstruction in your N, E, W, S views?

Glad you've enjoyed the thread, too, Kenny! I do have to contend with some trees obstructing part of the N. and E. directions. Polaris is visible always and I just have to wait for the monthly shift to bring other objects into view there. The E. direction is not good for anything low to the horizon but I can take portable scopes out for a better low E. directional view when needed. We didn't want to cut down all the trees! Thanks for the reply, Gene! I am enjoying the observatory tremendously! The weather has improved lately (it's taken this long for Summer to make its appearance over here -- weird weather this year ) with more clear nights and the observatory helps make maximum use of the opportunities.

and thank you, Tim! I'm glad you enjoyed the journey -- the observatory is a haven in my celestial voyages.
Build an observatory and I really think you'll never regret it! One would be fantastic for your amazing APO (I enjoyed viewing your artworks also = beautiful and incredible!).
Wishing you Clear Skies!

I'm glad you enjoyed reading about our endeavor! It's so fun to see all the creative ways people design and build their observatories. Every site is unique and so are the requirements and challenges to solve. I hope Crow Haven Observatory gives others some ideas and things to consider. I love my sky "fort." Thanks for your reply! Clear Skies!

Hi Maya, just spent a couple of hours on this thread, having found it by accident, love everything about your site, the build of the observatory and your telescopes, just be thankful I live in the UK and not at the bottom of your drive. Did you ever dare to total up the final bill ?
regards Gordon from a cloudy and damp Cornwall UK

Hi Gordon, I'm glad you found the thread and enjoyed it! The total cost of everything from digging out the site, the labor, electrical, pier, etc.(except the scopes) was approximately $25,500. We didn't cut any corners, we wanted this building to last. There's no regrets!
I'm also very familiar with cloudy/damp conditions, like you put up with over there -- another reason for the build being as it is to protect things from humidity and offer the most opportunities to observe whenever possible.
Regards to if you lived nearby...it would be great to have another observing enthusiast nearby to share this with!
Clear Skies! ---Maya

Wow... Quite the project. I have a 12 acre lot on a south facing hill side, but I'd have to cut down half a forest to get the view you have!!!
