Astro Physics daytime polar alignment.

Just wanted to get some confirmation from others that use the daytime polar alignment routine as there alignment setup for visual, once you have completed the routine do you find objects you go to fall within the eps fov or off. What are the limitations of this routine Eg does it still work when the mount flips.

I've only had my 1600 out a couple of times now. I find that the daytime polar alignment gets pretty close. After completing the daytime polar alignment, the scope is in park 1. When unparking the scope, I've seen gotos within .5 to 1 degree.

For visual, you would probably want to recal on a bright star in the area of interest. For imaging, I've found that the gotos are close enough that I can get a plate solve and recal to the astrometric solution. After the recal, gotos are very accurate in the area.

For good pointing anywhere in the sky, you would probably want to do a more accurate polar alignment after dark.
