Helo fellow astronomers. Noctuary is a free quarterly pdf ready for download at : http://www.noctuary.org/
It contains interesting bits and pieces from various parts of the astronomy and science world, from the beginner to the more advanced astronomer. It is based on a lot of southern hemisphere astronomy, but will be equally enjoyed by all of you in the far north!
The idea started last year when a friend and I decided we would like to share some of our experiences and knowledge with fellow astronomers. It is intended for a very casual read.
I hope that you find it an enjoyable read and please let me know what you think.

Thanks for the kind words so far! The idea was really to give pleasure to the astro community. On the plus side, its rare to get things for free these days! Clear skies

I didn't know about Noctuary till I read this thread. It's as broad ranging and culturally sophisticated as it is well designed. Love the fact that the layout is for landscape screen reading and not in the newsstand magazine portrait format. From the point of graphic layout and design, it's the most appealing read in the astronomical literature. Biggest blessing of all: no ads. Clearly a labor of love, and I hope Brett and Auke have enough independent means to hang in there a good long while.

Its good to see two South Africans active in this thread! Just want to say thank you to everyone for their kind words. And to add to Weltevredenkaroo: Noctuary will remain free in the future. It is purely due to the fact that 2 persons having the need to share information and interesting tit bits that they come upon to others - that is the fuel for Noctuary.

What?! I thought we were doing it for the fame, the fortune, and the hot groupies. Sigh.
