So I am looking at buying one next month. One of my favorite small scopes was the Pronto and I am hopeful this scope will fill that niche again.

So what color did you get and how do you like the scope?

I am personally leaning toward the blue or the white!

I have the green one. It really is a very nice little scope for the money. The ED optics are very nice and will show less color than the Pronto.

Preston,

I have the white/silver. Picture on the website is pretty good. I don't have a picture of mine yet. The white/silver is what I would call absolutely beautiful and is actually their signature color. It's a really nice scope. All the colors are nice. I also have a red AT66 and a white AT66 which are the earlier version of the telescope. I like these scopes a lot.

Meade Blue for me.

And I just ordered one of those Meade 2" diagonals with a 24mm 2" Meade eyepiece to use in it for $159. Now I don't have to spray paint my 22mm Nagler Blue.

My wife picked up a blue one at NEAF several years ago and loves it. It has less color than my pronto but the pronto delivers a slightly sharper image.

Silver and White and I love the scope. Mine has wonderful mechanics - the stock focuser is awesome. I wish it had a bit more aperature, but I knew that limitation when I bought it. I was tempted to sell it two months ago - but am very thankful that I kept it.

The white scope is the new AT60EDT, but it is similar in size and color scheme to the 72mm doublet.

Although I would think that less color would equal sharper images.

I have the white and silver one. It is my most used scope. Sold my WO ZenithStar 80FD as it is easier to balance for imaging (doesn't require an extension tube)and seems sharper.

Not neccessarily. A better, more smoothly polished lens will provide sharper images than one with better color correction but rougher polish. I am not saying that the AT 72 is blurry or noticebly inferior to the Pronto. If the weater ever clears here I will get them out again and post more definative results.
