Definitely a cool story. As a native Rhode Islander, I totally dig it. Nice to hear some good news involving lil' Rhodie!

I just now stumbled on this posting. It was definitely an awesome experience. Never did I think I would have the opportunity to talk with someone while they were on board an orbiting spacecraft. -Bob Horton
P.S. attached is a recent shot I got of the ISS.

Reading the story was also an awesome experience for the rest of the CN members here! What a chance of a lifetime, to view & talk with someone on board the ISS at the same time!
Very cool, also to give his children this opportunity to view it thru your telescope!

Bob, What a heart warming story! It's great you had the resources to help the Ford children and their dad. I'm sure they will always appreciate you doing that for them. The pictures are great. I've had the ISS fly over my house too but never thought of trying to capture an image due to the speed it travels.

The station does indeed move quickly, but just aim your scope ahead of it, and trip the shutter. It's that easy!
