Pages: 1 raffaello super member Reged: 10/10/07 from Reiner to Marius wide field       #5543938 - 11/28/12 01:53 PM Edit   Reply   Quote Quick Reply   Hello here from Reiner to Marius i was able to image the moon, including the Marius hills volcanic non monogetic domes. the mosaic here attached is from Marius to Reiner in a (my opinion) dramatic view. The humidity was high but several frames were well taken at 30 fps. Raff its a splendid image thats a treasure of fantastic dome details. A summit cam overlooking the region would have been wild. I know these are fairly shallow topographically but still what a view. One day we need to send an Orbiter to the moon that traces the topography like a cruise missile. The stills and vids would be jaw dropping. The HIghrise type vantage point typically we use is needed but some quartering angle shots would support that mode of imaging so well. Till then we have your quartering angle shots Raff and we are orbiters in one way or another yes? EXCEPTIONAL lighting angle of a rich target. The Terminator was not as well placed, and the crop seems to have introduced too much noise, but... Your image reminds me of a (somewhat less extensive) terrestrial version--The Newberry area in Oregon (here on Earth, lol): .... Little wonder they trained apollo astronauts here...
