Hey Guys,
After reading the posts in this forum, I decided to start in the world of astronomy buying my first binoculars.
I only have US$100 dollars to spend and I need a Binoculars with a decent Eye Relief (I use glasses). I narrowed my choices to three Binoculars but I am having difficult to choose.
These are the options:
Oberwerk 11x56
Celestron SkyMaster 12x60
Garrett® Gemini 10x50 LW Binocular
I just need a start binoculars. What do you guys think is the best choice?
Thanks for the help.

Oberwerk and Garrett are two good companies to do business with. They both offer a nice variety of products. I own several Garrett binos and have enjoyed them very much.
Best wishes, Frank

Something to consider.
Do you own a tripod or someother form of mount (parellelogram etc)? If not then, of the three listed, the garrett 10x50 come the closest of hand-holdability. This issue is quite subjective. For example 8x is the most magnification I can hold steady.

If it were me, I would wait & save up a little more money. Perhaps $200.00.
I think that the Nikon Action Extreme or the Pentax PCF WP II binoculars are a better choice/investment because of their Warranty.

I dont have a tripod. I will hold the Binoculars in my hand.
Now looking at Garret site, they have the Garrett Classic 10x50 for 99.95. Is this a better choice than the Garrett Gemini 10x50 LW Binocular?

That Garrett Classic is better than the Garrett Gemini LW.
The other choice of 11x56 seems to perform very special to my eye. You have to fold back the eye cups to seem the whole field of view. That field of view seems big to me.

Having briefly owned a Garrett LW in a different size, I'm not a fan of them. If it were my money, I would definitely go with the Garrett Classic over the LW.

rdandrea,
The Classi is US$ 99 dollars, just what I can spend. Maybe this is the best choice under 100 dollars with decent eye relief.
Hallelujah,
I live in Brazil and I am going to the US this week. I really can't spent more than US$ 100 because I will pay more taxes when I come back to Brazil.

For someone like me that needs the eye relief, does the stated amount of usable 17mm ER hold up in the field for Garrett Classic 10x50 PCF WP's?

Please read Ed Z's summary of the Garrett Genesis/Classic 10x50:
Small Binocular Reports The 10x50s
Also in the Small Binoculars - The Score, the Garrett ER was given a "3" in Ed's ascending rating system of 1 to 3.
