A detailed sketch of Orion Nebula made from two observations in two days at 38x, 101x & 228x with a 3.5" refractor.

That's simply beautiful.

It's clean with fine blending that has an airy starkness about it that's refreshing. A great piece always gives away something of the artists approach . Your smoothed exactness echoes the intensity of your observations.

I always enjoy your submissions.

One of the things tgats verysuccessful here is yiuve got this very subtle lo intensity gr e y value that you think is the tone of the bkack background til you see the blackness of tge dark intrusion into and around the nebula. Very refined.

Thanks Frank and Pete! I used black paper and for the blacker "Sinus Magnus" near the Trapezium stars I use charcoal to achive the effect.
