The better collecting fields are quite evident.
Are there good candidate collecting fields that are still relatively unexamined?

Indeed, the map basically depicts the areas with highest recovery rates. The central US, Saharan Africa, Australia, etc. In recent years, increased awareness and the spread of technology into remote areas has greatly improved the recovery rates. For over two decades now, meteorites have been pouring out the Sahara. In the NWA dense collection area, they are harvesting a "crop" of meteorites that has accumulated over many thousands of years. Once these are gone, it will take a very long long time for those kinds of numbers to replenish via the average annual fall rate.
It's interesting too see it depicted on a neat map like that.

I downloaded the data from the table view; a real goldmine of information!
It has 34,514 rows. Would this be a count of all known unique meteor falls? (At least according to the official enumeration rules.)

I still prefer the maps by Galactic-Stone: Meteorite Falls Saharan Desert and Meteorite Falls USA 
Still awaiting such a Meteorite Falls map for Australia
