What ever happened with "Tyche" or "Nemesis"

I remember a buzz about the possibility of a Gas Giant or Brown Dwarf out beyond the Oort Cloud.
here is the Wikipedia page : TYCHE

Is this for real? Are there any projects actively pursuing this object?

Over the last few years there have been examinations of periodic mass extinctions, and I've read claims that two or maybe more different periods exist, superimposed on each other. (Sorry I couldn't possibly locate the references now but the ones I read were all online.) Reasons may well have been down to just subtle stuff like our own orbital mechanics, etc.

(Except the famous one 65m years ago, which apparently still looks like a one-off impact.)

So this one simple cause for a single period probably isn't as clear-cut as it looked back then. (I dimly remember the Nemesis stuff in the 80s and liked the idea back then.)

I don't know how to format the above links, but they seem to work...
