I am getting into sketching and find that the 82* FOV eyepieces I have been using are too wide. I have trouble getting the field stops in. What is a better FOV? Would the Delos 72* be better?

If your sketch is constructed so as to show the full field, then certainly the wider apparent fields are trickier to deal with. Going from 82 to 72 degrees *may* not be a sufficient step down for the realizing of a notable easing of this difficulty. Sixty degrees or so would offer a pretty sure improvement.

For cometary observing/sketching I always use Erfle eyepieces with a FOV aroung 65°. For sun, moon and planets I use Plössls with aroun 55°.
Less lenses, more contrast, more brightness. This is more important that FOV for me.

I find 66 degree eyepieces the most comfortable, but anything between about 60-70 degrees is fine. Smaller FoVs I dislike mainly because of my Dobsonian setup, and larger FoVs seem to make my eye tired too quick.

I sketch with 100Deg field of view.I don't use the field stop( because I don't notice it very much) I find that it takes away from the object.I start my sketch with the subject in the center and add as many stars around it until I feel satisfied that it is well presented.
