Potential AVX issue
      #5728258 - 03/12/13 02:12 PM

I just received a new VX mount today. I got it all set up, turned the power switch on, and I saw and heard a spark near the aux ports. Is there any good way to test to see if something bad happened to one of them?
I rant the mount thru its motions and that works just fine. But Im thinking one of the aux ports shorted out or something.

Ok guys i decided to plug the HC into the aux ports and they both work.
But damn it was quite a good flash that had came out of there I thought they were both fried. Kind of scary...

Very odd.... I wonder if there was a bit of metal shaving or something similar inside the aux port that just happend to bridge two of the connectors.

If you look inside the aux port with a flashlight do you see any scoring?

Nope no scoring. Did smell that electronics type smell from there. but that may just be natural. Hopefully no issues come from this.
