Panstarr L4 Finally!
      #5733141 - 03/14/13 10:21 PM Attachment (85 downloads)

Finally got some sky clear enough to see the comet. Not a great shot, I would have loved to try it with the hyperstar, but what can you do.

Shot with a 70-300 mm lens and T2i. 2 sec ISO 800

Nice pic Tim! Was out shooting the comet myself and also I see you got that spot/star below the comet at the 7 O'clock position. I checked and it appears that actually may be Mars. Wha do you think?

Well I double checked and Mars set last nigh at 7:48, so Mars is out. The only other object in that area is Uranus.

Hey James,
I rather think it was Delta Piscium. Really hard to tell without any other reference stars.

Glad you grabbed it Tim ...but there should be quite a bit longer opportunity with this one "up" there - yes?

Thanks guys.

I hope so Darryl. But the weather here is inconsistent at best. It should be visible for the next week or so. But as it swings north, it stays low on the horizon and the days will keep getting longer until it's too bright to see the comet.
