Lt 8 vs Lx200 8" ACF Whats the big difference? new

I have noticed the Lx200 ACF sells more than twice the price of a LT 8.

Besides the sturdier mount, is there any other major difference to warrant the price?

You may not like that crinkly finish anyway, so consider Celestron.

The LT is intended more for "take it out on a whim in the back yard." It is light weight and easy to transport. It is intended really for visual astronomy. The LX-200 is the heavy duty cruiser that is intended for very serious astronomy and astrophotography. It is very strong, but heavy. It can be set up with a wedge for equatorial operation (necessary for the really high end astrophotography), while the LT or LS are not.

Same optics though.....nice views to the edge with the ACF.
