ORION XTG Backlash setting?
      #5740736 - 03/18/13 01:36 PM

Hi: Newby, just got an Orion XT12g, wondering about the backlash setting. Can that make the GOTO more accurate?

How does one decide at what value to set it?

I set mine so the motors don't stress too in their range of movement. The gears should be made with tighter tolerances, but they aren't. So we have to make do with what we have. Just went by feel and sound. Mine was on the second boat load coming over.
