What a hoot, almost worth buying to look at and giggle hysterically.

So you're thinking GEM or fork mounting it?

I was thinking it would make a nice "sky sweeper".

Say, hand-held

It is a process lens used for printing. Probably to cover 20X24 or larger graphic film. It might actually work well for 4X5 wide open and at infinity - those lenses are usually corrected for short subject distances, but since you will be only using a small area of the image circle, it may give sharp images. But at about 20lb, this will be difficult to balance unless you are thinking of going back to glass plates (in lead holders). I don't recommend a CG5.

1800mm focal length is also pretty difficult to deal with. That's 6 feet!

But 1800mm F/14 means an aperture of 129mm. It's not that big.
