Yesterday we were doing some CCD astrophotography and suddenly, while finding focus the camera started acting weirdly. At first it was doing ok, then it started sending always the same picture. The upper half showed somekind of nebula, noise. But it didn't change no matter what we did. Covering the telescope or shining some light into it didn't affect the picture at all. Then, after disconnecting and reconnecting it a couple of times it started sending back just plain black and it hasn't stopped doing so. What's going on? Could disconnecting the power from a warm (not cooled at all!) CCD while it was doing exposure damage it? But the rest of the camera still works so you can connect to it, etc. you just don't get any image. My 314L+ started having power issues. First the subs were just black with white lines running through them, then solid black. Finally the camera just shut off, checked against 2 adapters and it would come on then have power dropouts if you so much as touched the camera or power cable. mines sent in for repairs atm, hope you can get yours working without the hassle. I didn't ask yet, but this should be covered under warranty? The camera is 4 months old. You will probably need to pay shipping to UK, but at least in my case Atik paid for return shipping. Also, I was surprised how quickly the camera was returned to me (about 3 weeks from when I sent it). That's not bad considering international shipping. But, that was before Atik was very well known on the USA side of the pond. Good luck!
