CPC1100 tube swap question new
      #5742560 - 03/19/13 10:13 AM

Has anyone upgraded to an Edge tube on their 1100? If so, is there any trick to it, or literally just unbolt the old and rebolt the new?

I'm considering an upgrade and want to know if there are issues with re-alignment, etc.

Thanks!

First you'd have to get an OTA that's already drilled for the CPC mounting points or you'll have to drill and tap them yourself (and even if you find an OTA pre drilled I think that each OTA is custom positioned for each individual set of fork arms). If you do it yourself you'll need to be very very accurate in positioning and drilling those points. Offsets in different directions affect the goto and tracking accuracy in different ways.

Unless you had a really good grasp of the geometry involved and access to a good machine shop setup I wouldn't try it.
