Paramount MX hit sth. or out of balance.
      #5757048 - 03/25/13 09:25 PM Attachment (14 downloads)

I was testing ACP's autoflats plan with TOA150+MX, when the Skyx popuped the notice "the mount hit sth. or is out of balance." Then MX stopped immediately, cannot slewing, not homing, not parking.
I rebooted the computer, but MX wouldn't move. So I cut off the power supply and re-connected MX, then I opened the Skyx, MX automaticaly homed. COOL!

I was thinking of 2 reasons of MX's interruption:
1. QHY9 filterwheel hit the tripod;
2. MX out of balance near zenith.
Need to check it out. But I would say MX is Cool !

It sounds like maybe you had limits set and hit one of them.

Hi Steve,

I had this problem. The problem ended up being the drive belts for the MX. There is a long thread on the SB forums relating to this. Suffice to say that you should check the condition of the drive belts for the MX, if they are black, get a new set from SB, if they are grey, then the problem should not be related to them, but check if there's bits of belt in the drive system.

Cheers
Stuart

Hi,Stuart
The reason was that Filterwheel and wires hit the tripod when slewing from home position to near Zenith, and MX stopped. Fortunately, it was not the issue of the belt.
Thanks anyway.

Steve
