The Dragons' Duel: NGC 6193-6188 / Kalahari Desert
      #5758094 - 03/26/13 12:20 PM

Here's one image that was patiently waiting on my disc to be processed, since our first travel to the Southern Hemisphere - nearly two years ago.

Since I'd imaged it, I was sorry not to have done an Ha run on the object, and was consistently reluctant to process it, until I'd recently stumbled over it again, and got the passion back again

It had eventually proven a nice playing ground to test some techniques I've recently acquired related to the smoke-and-mirrors game luminosity and color are playing with each other...

I hope you like it, and any comments are, as always, very welcome.

Cheers,
Harel

Very nice Harel. It works well without H alpha.

Hi Harel,

It would have been a shame if you wouldn't have processed this image.
Under the dark Namibian sky a NBI is not always essential for emission nebula. You really did a very nice job with this one.

Best regards,
Gerhard

P.S. I see that you have been at Tivoli Farm. I'll be there in August again. Really looking forward ...

Thanks Gerhard,

I am happy you liked it, and yes, indeed Namibian skies don't require NB in many cases. In this case, I saw some NB results that showed me that the image could have benefited from Ha, to better bring out the details in the emmission / dusty part of the nebula. However, I am happy with this result, and who knows? - I might be able to add that Ha sometime down the road

Re Tivoli, if you change to May, we could meet each other there! And if not - Austria or Israel may be an even closer option

Cheers,
Harel

This is true ( see my version I made four years ago), but there is no reason to not be happy about your RGB-version.

Well, reservations have been made, flights have been booked, so there is no chance this year.
So it might be Austria or Israel, who knows

Best regards,
Gerhard

Hi Markus,
Thanks for these kind words.
I have browsed through your site, and find your processing "look and feel" very much to my taste!
Cheers,
Harel
