Panstarrs in 12x50 bino at west end of St.-Petersburg, Russia. Gibbous Moon and street light of megapolis behind. Sun just 12 deg. under horizon. Alpha And hardly seen. But the comet was seen with naked eyes and much better in my bino.

Excellent drawing Ernest. Beautifully rendered. You are lucky, I had not see it yet. I tried two days in a row using binoculars without success. And since, weather is bad, bad and bad again.

Andre.

Much better the comet was seen in my 80 mm ED-doublet (Sky Watcher F7.5) with 16 Nagler in focuser.

The best view was with 11 mm Nagler. Tail was about 40-45 ang. minutes long. Its aside split was seen better. Close to come head could be seen tiny star HIP 2733 (9m).

Ernest,

All beautiful captures of the comet.
If the sky cooperates it is a treat to see.

Frank

Hi Ernest,

Excellent drawings! Thanks for sharing them. I like drawings because they capture the memory of the viewing experience in more of a personal way. When you look back at them later, you can really remember being there at the time. Again, well done!!...John

Fantastic renderings! That is almost exactly how the comet appeared to me through my telescope.

Thanks so much for these. They closely match what I saw in 15x70's and a Meade ETX-80. The comet was a real beauty, but hard to find at first! I will bookmark this link for future reference. Glen
