Halpha - offband - first light this year new
      #5758923 - 03/26/13 07:23 PM

Here is my picture of the first halpha observation this year It was very cold. The observations were performed in offband. This allowed the contrast of this dynamic object can be greatly increased. The file is very long. Please scroll down far.

An amazing temporal study, Harald. A relatively minor filament eruption made spectacular with the Unigraph! Possibly Ellerman Bombs amongst the plage around the nicely resolved spicules, particularly on the far right end of the filament. Off-band imaging, I assume into the blue wing, certainly heightens contrast between the lower chromosphere and the filament string bundles that are so nicely resolved....despite your curious assessement of the seeing as 'very poor.' An excellent start on 2013 solar imaging!!

More please.

Excellent shots Harald!

Have you taken anymore shots with the double stacked CaK module yet Harald?

Hi all,

thanks for your answers.

Jim:
The offband observations can only be carried out in the blue wing , as I tilt to the filter system to the optical axis.

Mark:
The atmospheric conditions are currently for CaK observations too bad. As soon as the easterly current ( brrrr. .... -2.5 C ) is over, I'll see you again in CaK light.
