A fabulous experience!!
      #5760541 - 03/27/13 02:54 PM

Hello,
Last night I was watching the moon with a telescope from a friend, this was a SW 127mm Maksutov Cassegrain, the only thing I can say is: What a view so wonderful!
I think, that I had never seen this kind of images, sharpness and definition ....
Has anyone used this type of telescope for lunar observation?
I think the greater magnification was 300X., If memory serves me? this may be?
It was the only thing we see, Luna, I do not know if this telescope will work equally well for other objects ..
A fabulous experience!
regards

I have a 90mm Mak-Cassegrain that does pretty well on the moon up to around 150x, especially using my Burgess Binoviewers. Much higher and the view tends to get rather dim, but the little Mak-Cass does do fairly well for quick looks as a "grab and go" scope. However, I do like using a lot more aperture when I can, so I usually end up using the binoviewer on my 9.25 inch SCT at powers from 94x to nearly 400x. The most power I have used on the moon was about 836x in my 14 inch f/4.6 Newtonian, but it took a really good night to do that. Clear skies to you.

Here's a lunar shot taken with my 127mm Maksutov. It's my favorite grab and go in the city.

Richard, that's an amazing shot of Jupiter! Has to be stacked and processed I would think?

Richard, I like both your images, especially the one of Jupiter.
