Easter PanStarrs from France

Hello sketchers
Yesterday I don't see the "badminton ball" famous effect of the comet. So I sketch just the shape I saw, but the sky was black enough to detect the gold color of the tail.

Michel.

Beautiful sketch and I'm very surprised you still can see the tail that much. Very nice.

Andre.

Michel,

Very nice capture of the comet. It does look like a fine telescope target now.

Frank

Thank you guys,
André, yes indeed, in my 25mm eyepiece (40X) the field is 2° diameter that means around 1° for the tail. I have a special system to better see this kind of object, I use the manual delta control to make a rapid up and down movement, then a kind of peripherical vision give me better information about the limit of the dust. It's also limit to detect the gold color of PanStarrs, but with my good sky background this color stays fantastic.

Michel.

I never heard about that kind of equipment. I don't know what you are talking about but the result is very impressive.

Andre.
