Wow, Jerry - that's a fantastic image of this event. You managed to pull out excellent color along with great details in M31. Most of the similar images I've seen don't have any of these wonderful qualities. Great capture!

As always, Jerry, great picture. One I was trying to get myself. I was frustrated by a low horizon around my observatory.

When did you take that? Your website says "Morning of April 2."

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your very kind comments and for taking the time to take a look at the picture.

Alex, it was taken at about 5am on the morning of April 2.

Ron, the image is cropped in a little bit.

Jerry

Great Job Jerry!

I just got in from trying to capture the two of them. Got 43 x 30s exposures, but they were unguided, had problems with my guiding .

I really doubt that I will get the same results you did. Also did mine with a Nikon 180ED, but I did mine at f/4

Fantastic! I used the same lens on a T1i tonight, and posted the results in the Solar System imaging forum, but got nothing like yours! I only had time for ten 30 second exposures before they set behind a hill. And I have nothing like your skill in processing.
