Questar under the stars tonight
      #5780228 - 04/05/13 05:38 PM

Had my recently acquired Duplex (1991) out under the stars. Saw Io transiting Jupiter and its little shadow nicely defined on the planet's disc. The moon egressed just as high clouds started to roll-in but I managed to see that also.
Turned quickly to Castor, then Tegmine in Cancer and finished with Algieba in Leo - all nicely split!
These are truly amazing scopes!

Roberto

Roberto,
Indeed these are amazing scopes!

I'm the new "caretaker" of a 1974 Duplex. Have been blessed with the last 4 out of 5 nights with relatively clear skies in northwestern PA (rare). Amazed by the crisp resolution of Jupiter and it's details despite its intense brightness. Have spent most of the time awe-struck with the Orion Nebula. The certainty and the smooth mechanical precision of its focus knob is awesome.

All the Best
John
