lunar atlas for sct new
      #5780917 - 04/05/13 11:50 PM

I own a c/6 sct. Does anyone know if a lunar atlas has been printed for the orientation of this kind of scope. I use Antonin Rukl atlas while observing, and something of similar resolution would be good. Thanks.

I am unaware of anything better than the Rukl. I don't take mine outside though. I treasure it too much.

perhaps you can scan, invert and print?

I don't think it is as good as Rukl's Atlas (what is, right?) but it is oriented the same as your view (mirror view) for an SCT scope: Hatfield Lunar SCT Atlas (See picture below). As you can see, it has a photograph and a map for the area of the moon you are observing.

If you just want a map, I use Sky & Telescope's Mirror Image Field Map of the Moon (Illusttrated by Antonin Rukl ). It is laminated so it is perfect for a field atlas. Amazon.com shows it for some ridiculous price ($900+) but you can get it from good old Atronomics for just $10.95. It's not printed but you can download it to see if meets your expectations.

The mirror image version will fit your scope, I think.
