Thanks for the pix, guys!

It was an unblemished weekend, decorated with new acquaintances, thousands of wildflowers and beautiful weather, all at a lovely location.

I suspect Ajay encountered a freeway slowdown just before the rest area at Indian John Hill. Ajay and I caravaned down the hill yesterday morning. I didn't see him follow me onto the freeway and I think he may have stopped for gas. I continued on and a collision happened about 200 yd. ahead of me. I saw two cars careen uphill through the meridian about 1.25 mi. before the rest area, raising great clouds of dust. I suspect injuries, if any, were minor, since neither car rolled. I was past the accident in a few seconds but probably those behind me weren't so lucky. It must have been terrifying for those involved but perhaps simply an expensive lesson in defensive driving.

Independence Holiday weekend was stunning here.

Saturday we celebrated my daughters 22 birthday with a big outdoor party..which included lots to eat..BBQ'd everything.. and I smoked several huge slabs of beef too(started that at 6:00 am). Live music...:).Then we had 4 quads for everyone to ride, horse shoes and then we also set up the range and shot guns...some folks brought all kinds of guns to shoot, that was real fun. We then had a huge bonn fire..(A trailer load of wood) , then we shot off lots of fireworks.....then.....when all was clear..I opened up the OB and we had a great night viewing the stars...(Many had never looked through a telescope before..let alone one so large). Everybody had a great time...about 50~60 people attended.

What a day...it was Epic.

Mike, I got caught in the back up of the traffic. The wreck and another snarl between Cle Elem and the blast zone cost about an hour of extra travel time.

Sorry, Ron. Timing is, indeed, everything.

Rob, sounds fabulous!

I was not far behind, perhaps only a minute or two. I missed the slow down. The occupants of one car got out. Some in the other seem to be slow getting out. I saw a couple of ambulances headed east later.

Ajay
