I finally managed to get some decent weather, and the time, to get back into NSN and do some 'Southern Hemisphere Bus Tours' for all you good folk that enjoy seeing my Australian skies

but all that came crashing down in a hurry

To start with, my Wi-fi would not get a good signal. I was set-up approximately 160 metres (525 feet) away. It has worked perfectly on many nights until this time

So, realising my night for broadcasting was ruined I decided to spend the night polar aligning more accurately because all my gear was already set up.

That's when I damaged my EQ6 mount!!!! (long story)
It is going in for repair.

So, now that the sky is finally better and I have the time to Broadcast, I can't! STILL!!!!

I know, a different problem to what Travis mentions, but just sharing why I can't connect to NSN at the moment
Weak Wi-fi signal from my house and a busted mount

Dragon Man,

That is exactly what the thread is for. It is simply a way to get help or just moral support for any issues connecting to NSN.

Sorry to hear about your mount issues. What exactly happened? It helps others to know what can go wrong even though I know it is painful to tell a story like that.

I got my capture card and everything works now. However, I keep getting a message that I cannot broadcast at this time when I try to login to NSN. Is there anyway to correct that?

Just wondering since you didn't mention it...Have you applied for a broadcast channel yet? If so and it's been a couple of weeks, I'd email NSN to see if they got your application

I just emailed them. Hopefully it can be resolved relatively soon.

Travis, I was polar aligning by drift method, and I had to raise the mount angle in altitude, so I used the altitude adjusters.
They have a little hinged handle to turn them. After making an adjustment I totally forgot to hang the hinged bit downwards and consequently as the mount moved in RA the body of the mount jammed on that handle stripping something inside.

Here is the handle:

Wow Dragon_Man. That sounds like something that would happen to me as well. I hope it doesn't cost you too much money and time.

The good news:

A Club member, Martin, came by today and picked up my mount so he could take it home (3.5 hours drive each way!!!) and fix it.
He left here at 1:30pm. He contacted me at 5:48pm to tell me my Mount is fixed!!!!!

He said, and I quote:

The beast is fixed.
It was the gear on the worm, tightened it and adjusted and tested ok.

He is bringing it back up on Club Night this Friday
Wish all our breakdowns were that easily fixed.

Great to here that your mount is back together again. Keep posting once you get back out there.
