Why not rent a car? It's an easy hour's drive from Newark, and you'll have a car for getting around in Suffern too.

I think from the HoJo to the College it's only a four mile walk. Not bad if you're not carrying a 12" telescope on your shoulder.

According to Google Maps, it's only 2.4 miles. Not that bad unless the weather is foul.

Thanks for the suggestion about renting a car - makes perfect sense. But someone crashed into me on quiet Santa Fe back roads a few weeks back and I am still shell shocked.
