Question on Zeiss Telemator Mount
      #5796276 - 04/13/13 09:58 AM Attachment (14 downloads)

Reciently we were fortunate to purchase a TM Mount. The power requirements (230v/50hz) are the same as here in the UK. I would like to replace its mains power plug with a standard UK plug, however, the original plug has two prongs and two grounding slots. Unlike the three prong UK version, the Continental (CEE 7/7 Model) plug would allow it to be inserted into its respective socket more than one way; here's a photo of the plug.

It may seem obvious but, my question is... Does the TM Mount need to be correctly wired for polarity ?

That's a Netherlands style plug. They use the same one in Indonesia. It can go in both ways which is why there are two ground slots.

Polarity doesn't matter. I use an adapter with my Singapore (UK) plugged devices all the time. Two-wire AC is line and neutral, and the line goes both above and below neutral.

In any case, that is obviously an AC synchronous motor drive. So definitely there is no polarity since it's AC.

Thanks Orlando,

I appreciate having a second opinion.
