      #5800652 - 04/15/13 02:12 PM

first, I have a orion versago 2 altazimuth mount. it has manual setting circeles, Ive been told that the azimuth ring is set for the southern sky and it can be turned around for the north, is this a major operation. second, where can I find instructions on how to use them for a altazimuth mount, most of the intructions I find online are for a gem. thanks, donnie

I don't know about turning them around for the Northern hemisphere, but they are easy to use.

Make sure the mount is level. If its not, the accuracy at higher altitudes in the sky will be off.

Point the scope at Polaris and then set the azimuth circle to 0 degrees.

Find the altitude and azimuth of the object you want to look at using a planetarium program like SkySafari or Stellarium.

Align the altitude and azimuth pointers with the coordinates you found in the previous step.

Well, the problem is that 90 is 270. What you do is, yes, flip it over. The numbers will be upside down, but you can deal with it.
