Observation Log for iPhone
      #5810042 - 04/20/13 03:53 AM

I was really surprised not to find any astronomical observation logging apps for the iPhone. I have been thinking about building one ever since, specially that I really want something like that.

Would anyone else be interested in such app? If yes, what would be your must have features?

Thanks!

Use the voice recorder app and transcribe your logs to a book later. its a lot easier in the dark.

Or use the notepad if you really want to type. Then again, I like Dragon Dictation speech to text app. Works pretty well.

I use HanDbase, for my logging, allows me to build the log the way I like and export to Excell, not easy to setup but it's my log with my details.

Chip, agree with you on HanDBase. I found it fun to set up a logging, observing list. You can import all sorts of objects lists and even just set up a simple checkbox system of seen or note, or a more complex ome, with a notes field, or pop up items for transparency, etc.

HDB also has a Sketch field, which, while crude and limited, is serviceable.
