Possible supernova in NGC 7331 in Pegasus
      #5815618 - 04/22/13 04:10 PM

Hi all, the popular galaxy NGC 7331 so often imaged in the constellation Pegasus appears to now show a new supernova at magnitude 16 on detection, but it also appears to be brightening, it may become 11th magnitude.

At this time of year it will be highest in the northeast sky at around 3am, hopefully that won't anybody off?

Thanks for the heads-up - it's fairly close to the sun currently and not an evening object but at 3am I'm in slumberland ;-)

I took a picture of a supernova (started at 2013-04-23T00:07:20). My measurement - 15.5 magnitude. I did the animation in comparison with my photo of the galaxy NG7331 in 2011.

Nice Oleg,

That is a nice capture of a 50 million year old SN. Timing is everything, yes?

Finally had a chance to image SN 2013BU in NGC 7331 this morning (5/4) with the SLOOH T2hm scope. Here's one of the images.

Dang! I forgot about giving SN 2013BU a try during my two all-nighters at the TSP last week.

I attempted to image SN 2013BU this morning 8/9 from the Slooh Remote observatory. But it seems that between this image and my previous image, taken on 6/31, BU has disappeared.
