Skylight AR101/15 on display at NEAF TeleVue stand new
      #5791998 - 04/11/13 09:31 AM Attachment (119 downloads)

As you may or may not be aware, my latest Skylight design features long achromat optics by TeleVue.

If this is the first you're hearing about it, you can get some background information from the vendor thread, along with a couple of recent threads on the Refractor forum....or, you can ask me.

After a safe Atlantic crossing with FEDEX, I can now confirm that the Skylight AR101/15 will be on display at the TeleVue stand at NEAF next weekend! On your travels around the room, please stop by and say hello? I'm quietly confident that there will be an eyepiece or two available to use with it...

Here's a shot of it just before I packed it...it shouldn't be too hard to spot at NEAF.

Thank you all for the comments, I appreciate them very much.

I'm currently working on a NEAF special offer for this refractor...so if you do get a chance to come and see it, I hope you will get a pleasant surprise...

Hi Tom, the show scope is indeed spoken for...I'm actually borrowing her from the owner who lives in NY.

The scope is now set up and looks simply outstanding. I can now confirm that the Skylight AR101/15 is being displayed in what is truly a place of honour; on Al Nagler's original Alvan Clark equatorial mounting.

I'm working from an iPad during my stay in New York so can't post pictures (unless someone can advise me otherwise?), but as soon as I am able, I will get some pictures online.

See you at the show.

Danny,

Hey thanks so much for doing this! I'm unable to load pictures,so it will need to wait until I'm back in London.

again, I couldn't believe how well it held the contrasts of the light and the grill infront of the light. that image was incredibly sharp, and no fringing. it almost look like a beautiful stain glass with lead caming...I had to think twice about what it was pointed at.

First (outdoor) light report. Wow! Virtually no color on Jupiter and the Moon! Contrast is amazing. Crater shadows black (not gray)! Workmanship is beautiful. And, not incredibly heavy. Well supported on my CGEM. Truly a work of art! Thanks Richard!

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread.

I'm now back in London and have had a chance to have a good look through the images and pick out a few good ones.

To try and show the resolution of the scope, we settled on a small cobweb that we found up in one of the lights. While focusing on the cobweb made the shade behind slightly blurry, it was great to see the tiny piece of dust waving about in the air currents. Several people remarked how cool it would be if there was a spider up there, but none were forthcoming:

I couldn't have asked for a better display mounting...an original Alvan Clark. Too cool...

These are the first pictures of the finished Premium level AR101/15. This features the brass counterbalance bar, brass grab handle and most importantly, the exquisite Starlight Instruments Feathertouch focuser:

With products on the size & scale of mine, NEAF is a challenge to attend on an international level, but ultimately, the exposure is worth it. Further, feedback received at NEAF suggested that the very high spousal approval rating of my designs is still very much intact!

Any comments or if you'd like further information, please feel free to post it here or contact me via PM.
