Here's where all the telescopes have gone.

Where did they go when making room for the Norman Music Festival VIP lounge? Some of them here, in our video editing and photography room.

This might also be where they run to hide if the tornado sirens go off again this spring.

The Breakfast Club...

Careful, all the scopes will be friends the next morning and tell jokes about you that you don't understand.

The telescopes are finally getting to come out of the closet and things are getting back to normal here.

The sixth annual Norman Music Festival was a raging success outside our front door. They closed the streets for the 10 square blocks around us, set up massive stages in the streets and parks on Thursday and Friday nights and had musicians playing in all the bars, restaurants, store doorways, and on the four or five stages they set up.

The small venues started hosting bands on Thursday night until about midnight and all day Friday until midnight. They blocked off the side streets and set up the stages there on Thursday night (starting about 10 and finishing about 4 AM), which the musicians used on Friday evening in addition to the small indoor venues.

They then blocked off Main Street and set up the main stage at one end of Main Street on Friday night. The big street party on all stages ran all day Saturday from 9 AM until 2 AM Sunday morning. There was a Lions Club carnival going on next to the Festival for those who wanted to ride the rides and play the games while listening to the music from across the railroad tracks. By 9 AM Sunday morning all the stages and the carnival were gone and the streets cleaned up.

The Festival is free and over 60,000 people attended. Over 300 bands performed in the bars, restaurants, side stages, and main stage over the three-day Festival. Our showroom was converted into the VIP lounge, where the 300+ people who donated $5000 or more to run the festival (and some others) got to mingle with the musicians, and they and the musicians got all the free food and drink at the open bar for as long as they wanted on Saturday. The VIP room closed sometimes after midnight Sunday morning. Some of the VIPs included the Governor of Oklahoma, and William H. Macy and Lawrence Fishburne, who are shooting a movie north of Oklahoma City. Other cast members probably also showed up, but everyone was too busy to get names.

A fun time was had by all, or almost all. 60,000 people listened to music of all types, only one arrest, no property damage, over $1,000,000 in sales taxes collected by the city of Norman for the $12,000,000+ in food, drink, and lodging spent duringf the festival.

Sounds like it couldn't have gone better. Good for yourselves and the folks behind the scenes that you opened your new showroom to host.

Things are gonna seem comparatively quiet around the showroom after three nights of all that fun.
